View segment on why we need leaders in ag communications.
The need for experts in the field of agricultural communications has never been greater. Our global agricultural economy presents communications challenges never before imagined. That—combined with ever-expanding media channels and the need to know more, faster than ever before—adds emphasis to the challenge of maintaining and strengthening the Agricultural Communications Program at the University of Illinois.
To ensure the success of the program, the university and its agricultural communications alumni and friends are establishing the James F. Evans Endowed Chair in Agricultural Communications.
The key to the long-term success of the Agricultural Communications Program is the establishment of an endowed chair—a faculty position that will provide leadership to the program. In recognition of Jim Evans’ many years of exemplary service, and as a driving force behind the development of the Agricultural Communications Program at the University of Illinois, the endowed chair is being established in his name.
Dr. Jim Evans’ distinguished career spanned 33 years of teaching and research in agricultural communications. He has been recognized nationally for his leadership in an agricultural communications program and recognized internationally for his exceptional academic credentials.
